In an unprecedented time, a lot of us are confined to our homes, yet looking for ways to connect, to create and to be of service. As our community tries to adapt to a quickly shifting reality, it seems like a good time to slow down and have a conversation. Here’s to doing our part, looking for the positive, and finding ways to support each other. We’re in this together.
Ideas for supporting our communities during these tough times:
- Educate yourself with and follow the CDC guidelines
- Follow the advice of and donate to the World Health Organization
- Check in on neighbors, older individuals and those who live alone
- Donate money or blood to the American Red Cross
- Support a local non-profit or extend your reach with Charity Navigator or Charity Watch
- Donate to Feeding America or to a local Food Bank, Meals on Wheels
- Order take-out (and tip well)
- Help provide medical supplies with Heart to Heart International
- Donate or make Personal Protective Equipment for healthcare workers
- Support Covid-19 testing at University of Washington Virology Division
- Contact your local school and see if you can help with food distribution
- Help keep children healthy and safe with UNICEF or Save the Children
- Help provide food and learning support with Boys and Girls Club of America
- Don’t do unnecessary backcountry travel
- Send the letter with Love for the Elderly
- Don’t hoard food or supplies
- Donate to the Covid-19 Arts Emergency Relief Fund
- Donate to or buy a gift card from a local guide service
- Donate to the Humane Society or your local zoo
- Find your favorite artists, bloggers, and musicians on Patreon or Bandcamp

Awesome guys! And I loved your music Fitz Cahall, your song played with your kid was very moving!
Thanks Pim! It was really, really special to our team too. So glad you liked it.
Over the past few weeks, I have, for the most part, been frustrated by all my podcasts suddenly turning to coronavirus. I feel I just need a normal distraction from all this horror. However, I found this episode a welcome reflection on the human-ness of this crisis, and the resilience of individuals over life’s many challenges. I found it refreshing, and welcomed it as a positive corona-adjacent podcast in my week. Thank you so much for finding that balance.
Thanks for the kind message Carly. It felt important to slow down and acknowledge this time, and we’re also looking forward to getting back to our regularly scheduled dose of adventure. 🙂
Surviving on your podcasts these days. I am a raft guide, whitewater kayaker, climber, mountain biker, runner, and third grade teacher. I am living and working in the Middle East right now. Alone in an apartment on lock down and it’s such a struggle. A daily run with a bandanna covering my face as a make-shift mask is the only outdoors I am allowed for now. I am supposed to be in Nepal right now on spring break hiking to Everest base camp….
Thanks for sharing what y’all are doing to get by in this strange place and giving me ideas of how to spend this time. Please keep telling rad adventure stories so I can dream of the time I’ll be back in the wilderness.
Thanks for listening Morgan and for your nice note. We’re feeling the same over here in the states, doing what we can to help out, stay positive, and get small moments of movement where we can. Hope you stay safe, and dream big for the future!
Hey, just love the piano. Anywhere where I could listen to the complete song?
